SPODOPTERA

Spodoptera litura  is also known as tregulatory concern. This moth is found in Asia, with some specific problematic pest population reports occurring in Cambodia, India, the Pacific islands, American Samoa, and Hawaii. However  obvious differences in morphology between males and females of Spodoptera litura that allow for the easy differentiation of the two sexes.  It is also known as cluster caterpillar, common cutworm, cotton leaf worm, tobacco caterpillar and tropical armyworm. Helicoverpa is a serious pest of in Tomato, Beans, Chilli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Gram, Onion, Pea, maize, Potato, Cotton, Sunflower and other crops.

Mode of action

It is the process of attracting the pest, and trapping those insects that damages the fruits.

Economically Affordable, easy to install and manage.

Pheromone traps are species-specific

Reduces the need for use of harmful pesticide and insecticides.

If installed at proper tiime. it can detect low numbers of insects infestation.

Non toxic and can be used all along the year.

Precautions

One should use hand gloves / clean hand for handling lure

Avoid using alkaline or acidic pH products.

Do not use in combination with chemical pesticides and fertilizer
